JobMaker Hiring Credit

Undoubtedly, you have heard the word “JobMaker” been thrown around lately as the latest government incentive!

So what is it? 
 
In a nutshell, the JobMaker Hiring Credit is an incentive by the government to encourage new employment.

What is the eligibility criteria for you as an employer:
  • additional employee hire (from 7 October 2020 to 6 October 2021);
  • employee age – between 16 and 35 years old;
  • employee must have received JobSeeker Payment, Youth Allowance or Parenting Payment for at least 28 consecutive days within the 84 days prior to the start of employment.;
  • employee to have worked at least 20 paid hours per week on average during the reporting period;
  • employer can claim payments in arrears from the ATO from 1st February 2021;
  • employer can claim payments for up to 12 months from their employment start date;
  • employer cannot claim JobKeeper and JobMaker at the same time
What is the credit amount you will receive as an employer if you are eligible:
  • $200 per week for eligible employees aged 16 to 29 years old
  • $100 per week for eligible employees aged 30 to 35 years old
