We are a small team of dynamic people who enjoy the numbers just as much as getting to know you and your business.  We bring impressive experience without an inflated price tag, and family values are at the core of everything we do.  It’s literally in our name – CJM for Charlotte, Joshua, James and Marina. 

Meet Our Team


James Hakim, FCPA, Director

Find him re-watching the 2016 AFL premiership or his beloved Liverpool with a glass of Johnnie Walker Blue

James has over 20 years of experience in public practice accounting, holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a qualified FCPA.  He found both his love for accounting and the love of his life in Marina whilst at Latrobe University.

His knowledge and in-depth understanding of tax in small business is meticulous and second to none.  James’ passion for what he does lies in helping small businesses run successful operations.  He works closely with them and takes enormous pride in delivering the best possible service and results.  When we say he cares about his clients… he really, really cares.

James founded CJM after experiencing the traditional accounting model and understanding that if he wanted to provide a truly client first approach then he needed to venture out and create his own way of doing things.  He’s incredibly proud of the fact that years later, CJM is genuinely providing a holistic service where getting to know you as a client and working together is a priority.

Marina Hakim, CPA, Practice Manager

So good at multitasking that she can read a Jojo Moyes novel whilst bike riding with the kids.

Marina has worked in public practice accounting since graduating from La Trobe university in 2000 and has managed a multitude of clients over the last 18 years.  She obtained her CPA status, further enhancing her skills in 2003, and is Xero certified.

Always working closely with her clients, Marina has a canny eye for details, ensuring their accounting processes run with utmost efficiency.

Whilst her expertise is in accounting and tax consultancy, Marina gets her kicks out of professional organisation.  She is the reason our processes are so efficient and our clients needs can be met so quickly.

Marina regularly attends the CPA Northern suburbs women’s discussion group, having taken on the role of chairperson for a number of years.

Brent Gloury, CPA, Tax Manager

Can talk (and play) cricket with the best of them. World traveler – ask him about his trip to India.

Brent joined us and became an integral part of our team in 2016.  He is also a member of CPA Australia and obtained his accounting degree at Victoria University.

Brent comes with 20 years of invaluable public practice experience, in a variety of fields and business areas.  This experience provides him with outstanding knowledge in an array of different taxation areas.

He prides himself on a caring yet effective approach with his clients, where he ensures their comfort and understanding of all things tax.

Leanne Oxnam, Client Services Coordinator

Ray of sunshine in the office, world’s best banana pancake maker to her grandkids.

We are lucky to have Leanne as our Client Services Coordinator.  She brings such a welcoming energy to the office for our clients who are always met with her infectious smile and warm personality.

Leanne has 16 years of experience in the corporate field having worked in events management and a variety of administration roles.

She is passionate about providing excellent service and enjoys getting to know and building a rapport with our clients.


Cianka Naidoo, Accountant

As well versed in profit and loss as she is in Harry Potter – we reckon she’d be handy in a trivia team!

With a Masters in Professional Accounting and three certificates in business, customer service and vocational preparation, it’s safe to say Cianka is qualified for the job! She’s currently studying her CPA; the cherry on top.

Cianka went into accounting because it’s a service that’s got global demand and is a core component of business strategy, operation and growth. Accounting provides the foundation for so much business activity and helping her clients understand the numbers and making positive change because of that, is her favourite part of the job.

Our friendly team environment as well as the focus on professional and personal growth is what had Cianka clicking with the CJMA culture. Outside of reading, you’ll find her listening to music (particularly jazz), and exercising to balance out her cake, donut and chocolate addition (Cianka’s stomach really is the way to her heart ;)).
