NEW: Small Business COVID Hardship Fund:

  • $14,000 grants for eligible businesses
  • experienced a 70% reduction in turnover between 27th May 2021 and 10 September 2021 compared to a benchmark period in 2019
  • available for businesses that were ineligible for other grants 
  • must be registered for GST on and from 28 July 2021
  • employing and non-employing businesses can apply
  • applications close 10 September 2021

Here is what the government has announced so far (and we will keep this page updated as we know more).

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

Covid Disaster Payment:

  • Payment of $600 for those Victorians that lose 20 hours or more of work during the lockdown
  • Payment of $375 for those Victorians that lose between 8 to 20 hours or more of work during the lockdown
  • No liquid assets tests applied to receive these payments
  • Must be over 17 years of age
  • Payments are made in arrears and will commence 23 July 2021

VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

NEW (28/07/21) Small Business COVID Hardship Fund:

  • Grants of up to $5,000 for small businesses who haven’t qualified for other grants
  • Must have had a 70% or greater reduction in revenue
  • Details on how to apply – yet to be announced

NEW (28/07/21) Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme (CTRS) and Landlord Hardship Fund (LHF)

  • CTRS – provide much needed rent relief to small and medium business tenants and their landlords
  • LHF – support to landlords that provide rent relief to tenants
  • Details on how to apply – yet to be announced

Business Costs Assistance Program (updated 28/07/21):

  • $5,000 grants to up to 30,000 businesses that remain impacted by capacity limits –  including gyms, cafes, restaurants, catering services and hairdressers
  • CBD businesses impacted due to staff restrictions in offices – to receive an additional $2,000
  • All recipients must have received or been eligible for the previous Business Costs Assistance Program
  • Details on how to apply – yet to be announced
  • If you were eligible for and received this in the last May/June lockdown, you will automatically receive another payment of $2,000; plus $2,400 (announced 21/07/21)

Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund (updated 28/07/21):

  • Grants of up to $20,000 to be made available
  • An additional $2,000 for eligible CBD businesses
  • All recipients must have received or been eligible for the previous Licenced Hospitality Venue Fund 2021
  • Details on how to apply – yet to be announced
  • If you were eligible for and received this in the last May/June lockdown, you will automatically receive another payment of $3,000; plus $4,200 (announced 21/07/21)

Small (micro) Businesses (earning less than $75,000 and not registered for GST):

  • Unfortunately, nothing at this stage – however the government has mentioned that they are looking into some support for these businesses (🤞 sooner rather than later we hope).  NEW – 21/07/21 – vast majority of these businesses will be eligible for the Covid-19 Disaster Payment of $600/$375 mentioned above per seven day period – Vic Government to establish a concierge service to help these businesses access this support.

Public Events Supports Program:

  • Public Events presenters will receive up to $25,000 and up to $5,000 for suppliers

Live Performance Support program:

  • funding of up to $7,000 for presenters and up to $2,000 for suppliers

Sporting Clubs Grants Program:

  • $2,000 grants for community sport and active recreation organisations for events that have been unable to proceed or will have to be cancelled or postponed.
